1. How to Prepare for the Service?

• Communicating with your kids: Sit your kids down and speak with them about the babysitter at least a day ahead of the service so they don't get shocked on the same day, try to explain to them why the new member is coming to their home and how she will help them out during the day. Make sure you book the nanny at least half an hour early to introduce your kids to her. You can always ask to meet the nanny a day ahead to familiarize your toddler to her.
• Give all contact information:This is super important when leaving the kids alone, give your full names, cell phone numbers, trusted family, friends or neighbor's numbers and emergency contact information before hand.
• Outline You kids Schedules:Let the nanny know your kids' daily routine, the key is in the details of the schedule for example: Getting back from school, cleaning up, having lunch, then studying. In that way, the kids won't feel that there is a complete change to their daily life and for the nanny to know what maximum number of hours are allowed to watch TV or play on the iPad
• House Rules Orientation:You will need to show the maid around the house, where things are kept, what areas the kids are not allowed in alone or unsupervised, and where the toys, diapers, clothes, and first aid kit are kept
• Dietary Details:During orientation, show them around the kitchen and let them know how to prepare a meal if necessary and how much snacks are allowed. Letting them know how many times to feed the toddler is also very important, extra tip: keep a feeding sheet on your fridge for the nanny to punch in when she fed the baby.
